THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA THE ORGANIZATION COMMITTEE OF THE 4th VESAK DAY CELEBRATION
Namo Säkyamuni Buddha.
With profound reverence, we respectfully pay homage to the Most Venerable Elder High Monks, the Venerable Sangha of Bhikkhus and Bhikkhunis, and extend our sincere greetings to all esteemed Buddhist devotees and compatriots.
In the immeasurable joy of the sons and daughters of the Buddha turning their hearts toward the sacred commemoration of the Birth of our Compassionate Father, Sakyamuni Buddha, the Buddhist communities of the Midwestern United States and neighboring regions solemnly and respectfully organize the International Celebration of Vesak (Buddha Day). This auspicious occasion commemorates the three supreme events in the life of the Buddha: His Birth, His Enlightenment, and His Parinirvăna, while offering collective prayers for world peace, the harmony and well-being of all sentient beings, and the perpetuation of the Buddhadharma.
The Vesak Celebration in this region has been solemnly organized on three successive occasions at: Phap Hoa Temple, Wichita, Kansas (2018); Bat Nha Temple, Bauxite, Arkansas (2019); and Quan Am Temple, Kansas City, Missouri (2025). Continuing the noble spirit and virtuous legacy of the Venerable Ones, and with utmost reverence and heartfelt sincerity, the Linh Quang Temple (Nebraska) respectfully undertakes the organization of the Fourth Vesak Celebration.
With profound respect, the Organizing Committee humbly and respectfully invites the Venerable Sangha, Honored Dignitaries, and all Buddhist devotees to graciously attend this Grand Ceremony. Together, we shall offer the incense of the heart in devotion to the World-Honored One, imbued with the radiant light of His compassion and wisdom, and further cultivate the noble fellowship and spiritual harmony of the Dharma in this land abroad.

The honorable presence of the Venerable Sangha and distinguished guests will be a great honor to the Organizing Committee and will greatly enhance the solemnity, completeness, and sacred significance of this Vesak Celebration.
We reverently pray for the compassionate blessings of the Triple Gem to protect the Venerable Ones with peaceful and healthy bodies and long-lasting Dharma life. May all honored guests and Buddhist devotees abide in peace of body and mind, uphold a firm and unwavering bodhi resolve, and enjoy the fulfillment of all wholesome aspirations.

Thursday, May 14, 2026 (March 28, Year of the Horse): We respectfully welcome the Venerable Monks and Nuns, along with devout Buddhist practitioners.
Friday, May 15, 2026 (March 29, Year of the Horse): Completion of decorations for the Grand Ceremony:
11:00 a.m.: Offering prayers to the Buddha on his birthday, opening the scripture recitation ceremony, and purifying the altar.
11:30 a.m.: Lunch.
3:00 p.m.: Brief Ceremony of Offering Food to Wandering Spirits and Ghosts.
6:00 p.m.: Snack time.
7:30 p.m.: Grand Ceremony of Remembrance and Sermon for the Souls of the Deceased.
9:30 p.m.: Sitting meditation, stillness.
Saturday, May 16, 2026 (March 30, Year of the Horse):
6:00 a.m.: Meditation, Practice, Hand Gesture Ceremony.
8:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
10:00 a.m.: Recitation of the Buddha’s Birthday Sutra (Chapter on Expedient Means of the Buddha Sutra), and offering of food at noon.
11:30 a.m.: Lunch.
2:00 p.m.: Opening Ceremony of the Buddha’s Birthday Festival – Flower Float Parade – Memorial Ceremony and Prayer: for world peace, human well-being, and the eternal preservation of Buddhist teachings.
6:00 p.m.: Snack time.
7:30 p.m.: Cultural and artistic performances as offerings.
10:30 p.m.: Fireworks celebrating the Buddha’s birthday – The congregation observes a moment of silence.
Sunday, May 17, 2026 (April 1st, Year of the Horse):
6:00 a.m.: Meditation, offering thanks to the Buddha, and the four assemblies of Bodhisattvas.
8:00 a.m.: Breakfast.
9:00 a.m.: Chanting the Buddha’s name while walking, Dharma assembly.
11:00 a.m.: The official Vesak celebration begins.
12:30 p.m.: Offering of Food to Monks – Grand Ceremony Concludes

Kính bạch Chư Tôn Trưởng Lão Hòa Thượng, Chư Tôn Đức Tăng Ni, cùng Quý Đồng hương Phật tử gần xa,
Trong niềm hoan hỷ vô biên của người con Phật hướng về ngày Đản Sinh của Đức Từ Phụ Thích Ca Mâu Ni, Phật Giáo miền Trung Tây và những vùng Phụ Cận tại Hoa Kỳ trân trọng tổ chức Đại Lễ Phật Đản – Vesak nhằm tưởng niệm ba sự kiện trọng đại trong cuộc đời Đức Phật:
Đản Sinh – Thành Đạo – Niết Bàn, đồng thời cầu nguyện thế giới hòa bình, chúng sinh an lạc, Phật pháp trường tồn.
Đại Lễ Vesak tại khu vực này đã được long trọng tổ chức liên tiếp 3 lần tại: Chùa Pháp Hoa, Wichita, KS (2018); Chùa Bát Nhã, Bauxite, AR (2019); Chùa Quan Âm, Kansas, MO (2025).
Tiếp nối tinh thần cao quý của quý Ngài, với tất cả lòng thành kính và thiết tha, Chùa Linh Quang (NE) xin trân trọng tổ chức Đại Lễ Vesak lần thứ IV.
Ban Tổ Chức chúng con xin trân trọng cung thỉnh và kính mời Chư Tôn Đức Tăng Ni cùng Quý Liệt vị, Quý Phật tử hoan hỷ quang lâm tham dự Đại Lễ, để cùng nhau dâng nén tâm hương cúng dường Đức Thế Tôn, thấm nhuẩn ánh sáng từ bi và trí tuệ của Ngài, cũng như vun bồi tinh pháp lữ, đạo vị nơi xứ người.
