We encourage you to work with your Teacher to establish a daily practice at home. If you are exploring on your own, the following practices can help provide a solid foundation for practicing with the Buddha’s teachings, cultivating wisdom and compassion:
- Recite a bell gatha and ring the bell.
- Recite a Mindfulness Training.
- Read a selection from a Dharma book or listen to a Dharma talk.
- Many books are available online, such as those from Abhayagiri Monastery.
- Similarly, many audio and video recordings are available, such as those by Plum Village or Dharma Seed.
- Meditate for a set amount of time.
- You may use a guided meditation, such as those provided by Plum Village.
- Many resources (donations welcome) are available for learning how to meditate, such as audio/video provided by Gil Fronsdal or books by Ajahn Sucitto and Ajahn Amaro.
- Dedicate the merit.

- You are welcome to use any of the practices we use at our weekly services, many of which are found in our service book (PDF here).
- Many reflection questions and practices are offered in our collection of Dharma reflections, Now is the Time to Practice.
